When you need to do this
- Wi-Fi is strong enough at your door but the device won't get online;
- Wi-Fi is strong enough at your door but the unit gets offline frequently;
- Audio is not working properly;
- The existing chime hums/makes noise randomly;
Why you need to do this
Your original mechanical chime cannot supply sufficient or stable electric current in order to have your iseeBell work properly.
Will it make the mechanical chime to ring?
No. You will still need to use the Indoor Chime+nightlight we provided. You can pair as many indoor chimes as you want to your iseeBell Doorbell unit.
How to do it
If you still keep the Setup and Installation manual, kindly refer to Step 11. Adjust the existing chime.
1. Find your mechanical chime and take the cover off. It should be something like this:
2. In most cases, you will see 3 screws, and 2 of them (TRANS and FRONT) are connecting to wires already.
3. Slightly loose the TRANS and FRONT screws. Take the white wire (provided in the tool pack), remove the rubber on both ends, and jumper connect each end to TRANS and FRONT. Tighten the screws.
If you had both your front door and back door run doorbell wires, you should see all 3 screws are connecting to wires. Just jumper connect TRANS and FRONT for your front door and TRANS and REAR for your back door.
Be aware that this would NOT fix issues like device won't get online because of the Wi-Fi signal strength is too weak at where the device is installed.
